Clancy Relocation & Logistics; Our Mission: To hire and promote great people that care about safety and quality. To deliver best in class value to the people and organizations we serve. To exceed our customer’s expectations and earn their referral and repeat business. To grow our market share across all divisions, win every large project and dominate our competition.
For those of you who don’t already know Jennifer Storms, she is our Customer Service Manager and is a Platinum Certified Senior Move Coordinator. With nearly 20 years of experience, she manages our residential customer service department. Jennifer is a dedicated coordinator who always puts the customer first.
The annual Heart of Quality award was created to recognize excellence among move coordinators. This position serves as a key point of contact between the customer and service providers to make the moving experience successful from preparation through final delivery. As an integral part of the moving process, the move coordinator’s role includes keeping the customer informed, being available, advocating, coordinating and consulting on aspects of overall move coordination.
The top move coordinators from each van line and size category are recognized for their work during the calendar year. With more than 2,000 coordinators in the agency system, this is certainly the highest honor. Only the winner and runner-up are awarded for each size category. Our size category contains 33 other agents. To qualify for the HOQ award, each nominee must meet with a minimum number of customer feedback survey returns and a median score of at least 4.43.
This is Jen’s 5th Heart of quality award, which is a remarkable professional achievement as she has outperformed hundreds of other coordinators throughout the country. She sets the bar very high and it shows everyday on every move.
John Clancy reminds Jennifer, “You make us all very proud! An industry quality leader year in year out! We truly appreciate your outstanding efforts!”
Texting is among the worst driving distractions. The odds of being involved in a crash, near-crash, or unintentional lane deviation are 23 times greater for truck who are texting while driving.
Research shows that drivers texting while driving took their eyes off the forward road for 4.6 seconds on average. At 55 mph, this equates to traveling 371 feet (more than the length of a football field) without looking at the road.
It is illegal for a commercial driver to text while driving, and there are restrictions on using mobile phones (devices must be hands free, and dialed using no more than one button).
Eating, drinking, interacting with a navigational device, map reading, controlling a pet, or any other activity that takes focus off the road can also be a deadly distraction. If you must attend to an activity other than driving, get off at the next exit or pullover – it’s not worth the risk.
Practice Work Zone Safety
Work zones present many hazards, like lane shifts, sudden stops, uneven road surfaces, moving workers and equipment, and confused drivers.
In 2016, 27% of fatal work zone crashes involved at least one large truck compared to only 11% of all fatal crashes – so it’s vital to take work zone safety seriously. Slow down, maintain extra following space, and be prepared to stop. Obey all work zone signs and signals, scan ahead for changing traffic patterns, and be alert to vehicles entering your blind spots. Keep a sharp eye out for road workers and flag crews.
